Been almost a month since I last wrote. Holiday's and traveling make it harder. But here is an overview of us and how we are doing.
I am doing well. I love my job. There is so much less stress. I am learning so much!! Gordon Day (therapist and clinical director of Aspiro) is incredible to work with. I get to listen in on his family sessions and individual sessions. I ride with him to Mt Pleasant Mondays and tuesday. During that time he teaches me so much during those drives. I feel like I will be better able to help others, and be a better therapist one day because I have had Gordon as a mentor. I am so excited to work each day. I feel like I do a good job and have a lot to offer. I learn daily and they are very impressed with my ability to multi-task, pay attention to details and communicate effectively with parents, educational consultants and Aspiro people. Gordon is going to a conference all next week. He has asked that I fill in for him doing all of his family sessions, meeting with students, taking care of phone calls, meeting with educational consultants, etc.
I brought back some ski bibs from Carlsbad and wore them on Tuesday out to Mount Pleasant with my christmas boot. I was tromping through knee high snow and plenty warm. I loved it.
BYU's masters of social work applications are due tomorrow. I have completed the application and need to turn it in now. Still have not heard back from the University of Utah. I'll hear from them between now and April. My diploma is in the mail right now. Woot woot! Once I get that I'll go take my licensing exam and become a licensed social worker.
Joshua loves, loves, loves his student teaching. He is pushing the kids by holding them to higher standards than they are use to. They are throwing good fits and trying to push his buttons. He thinks it is funny, keeps to his expectations like doing homework and not talking when he is talking,etc and boundaries.
Christmas was great! We love our electric toothbrushes. Joshua was complemented on his teeth by several students. They asked him how often he goes to the dentist or if he had just gone. (These students are in a program to be dental assistants by the time they graduate high school.)
I have planted a windowsill herb garden with cilantro, parsley, orgeano and chives from seeds. They have sprouted and are growing so well. I love having a little garden. I sit each day and watch them for at least 5 minutes. I remember dad planting a garden when we lived in Chandler and me trying when we lived in Gilbert. Mostly I remember weeds and it being so hot outside and the ground so hard that it wasn't very fun. Plus, I was littler so it seemed so hard! Anyways, I do remember always wanting to have a large garden. I am so proud of myself for going for it. I'll have to take a picture of it!
